I fell in love with the Stuart Weitzman 5050 over the knee boots the first time I saw them worn by Kate Moss in a magazine ad. I wondered how the boots fit, especially with my small calves. Are they comfortable? Will they last over time? Is it just a trend, or will it stay as a classic pair of boots? Most importantly, are they really worth it? Here’s my Stuart Weitzman 5050 Boots review.
How do the boots fit?
I’m a size 8.5 and purchased a size 8. I wear thin socks with these, and they fit perfectly. If I would’ve gotten my usual size, I think it would definitely be too big for me. The boot’s back is made of stretchy fabric, and it’s snug around my calves, which works for me because I have small calves. Before buying these boots, I purchased a dupe, and they would always leave a gap or start to droop. I think the stretchy fabric on the boot’s back is what sets the Stuart Weitzman 5050 Boots apart from others.
Are they Comfortable?
Omg yes! These are so freaking comfortable. I strolled all over the streets of NYC with my pup Gatsby, and they have NEVER EVER given me blisters or made my feet hurt. In other words, I didn’t need to break in these boots.
Will they last over time?
I bought these boots six years ago before I had Gatsby! The sole isn’t worn out like my other boots, and the leather is still soft and beautiful. Just make sure that you spray them with a stain repellent before wearing them.
Are they just a trend right now, or is it a classic and here to stay?
After having these for six years, I’m still wearing them during the fall and winter. I think the over the knee look is what most women are drawn to. These boots are chic, comfortable, and casual enough to wear every day. They are definitely here to stay and a part of my capsule wardrobe. They look great with a pair of skinny jeans or faux leather leggings and an oversized sweater. I’ve even worn them with a blazer to work too.
Are they really worth it?
I absolutely love these boots and think they’re a great investment. My favorite thing about them is that I can stroll the streets of New York City all day and still be comfortable in them! Oh, and I also forgot to mention all the “Nice Boots!!” comments I get too.
