Visiting a Christmas tree farm will truly get you in the holiday spirit. Last weekend, we visited a dog-friendly Christmas Tree Farm in Long Island, NY. While we don’t go there to get a freshly cut tree because we have an artificial one at home, (it works out better for us since we have four cats and a dog) we do visit to see their beautiful holiday lights display and to shop at the barn for holiday gifts and treats.
Waterdrinker Family Farm is about a 1.5-hour drive from NYC. Their Winter Wonderland just opened up, and it’s $10 per person to get in. (It’s free if you just want to walk in the U-pick Christmas tree area). You’ll be able to check out their airstream Christmas Village, see the barnyard animals, play mini-golf or hang out by the fire pits to enjoy some hot cocoa and s’mores with classic Christmas music playing in the background. The best part of all is that you’ll get tons of photo opportunities with your pup!
You’ll also get to ice skate and take photos with Santa too. We visited the first week they opened so that wasn’t available yet.
Winter Wonderland
Gatsby stuck his head in every one of these holiday-themed RV’s to see what was inside. There are a few fire pits around so that you can sit down to enjoy some hot cocoa. We arrived as soon as they opened so it wasn’t packed with people yet.
Winter Market
I think this was Gatsby’s favorite part of the farm. He loved the smell of the freshly baked pies, other baked goods, and treats. We picked up a blueberry pie and butter pound cake. There were lots of holiday decorations, plants, and wreaths to choose from.
Have you visited a dog-friendly Christmas Tree Farm with your pup yet? Which one did you guys go to? Did you end up getting a fresh-cut Christmas tree?
