Dog-Friendly Glamping with Terramor Outdoor Resort Near Acadia National Park

SIBE LIFE | Dog-Friendly Glamping | Terramor Outdoor Resort Bayberry Tent

Visiting Acadia National Park in early October with my pup is now a tradition! This year, we chose to stay at the luxurious Terramor Outdoor Resort for the ultimate dog-friendly glamping experience.

Being a good boy all year, Gatsby deserves the best vacation with everything he loves – the cold weather, being with nature, hiking, and exploring the trails all day. I want to be able to watch the stars with him, have him drift into a deep sleep under the moonlight, and wake up to birds chirping outside.

Nestled in the woods of Mount Desert Island, Terramor is close to both the town of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. If you’re planning to hike at Acadia National Park with your pup and looking for a dog-friendly glamping resort, here’s all you need to know about Terramor Outdoor Resort!

Dog Rules at Terramor Resort

  • There is a pet fee of $30 per stay and a limit of two dogs at a time in each tent.
  • Dogs are not allowed to be left alone in the tent.
  • Dogs are not allowed in the Lodge since that is where they serve food, but they are allowed on the screened-in porch with a fireplace.
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times except at the dog park.

The Tents

There are several types of tents to choose from, and we went with the Bayberry Tent, which sleeps two with a king-sized bed and an upscale bathroom. We had a double sink vanity, a huge walk-in shower, a toilet, and even a hair dryer! I seriously can’t live without any of that!

We were also able to request a mini fridge so we could store Gatsby’s raw food. Need Wifi? No worries. They have that too!

Each tent has Pendleton blankets and a portable heater to keep you warm in chilly fall temperatures. If you plan to visit in the summer, note that there’s no air conditioning, but you will have a large overhead fan to keep you cool.

You also get a private fire ring with comfy Adirondack chairs and complimentary firewood to make ‘smores and enjoy the warm fire on a chilly night. The screened-in porch is where Danny and I enjoyed our coffee in the morning and a glass of wine during the evening.

The Dog Park

The best thing about Terramor is that it has a dog park! After a 9-hour drive from NYC, Gatsby finally got to stretch his legs and roamed free. I only wished it was a little bigger and for a separation between small and large dogs.

The Lodge

You’ll find the front desk, the gift shop, the bar, and the kitchen at the Lodge. This is also where you’ll come if you want to borrow telescopes and dog beds, and you’ll have to bring them back when you check out.

Screened-In Porch (Next to the Lodge)

While your dog can’t accompany you at the Lodge, your pup can stay on the screened-in porch to enjoy the fireplace while you play board games or read a book.

Food And Drinks

Terramor Outdoor Resort The Lodge

Breakfast is complimentary each morning with freshly made pastries, fruit, granola bars, bagels, coffee, tea, and more. It would have been amazing if they offered hot breakfasts, like egg sandwiches!

If you’re planning to spend the day exploring Acadia National Park, take-out lunch is available each morning to bring on your adventure.

As for dinner, it’s served every day from 6pm-9pm. There’s a different menu every night with a selection of wines, local beers, and even craft cocktails. Make sure you try their duck wings! They were my absolute favorite.

Explore Onsite Nature Trails

If you want to relax and hang out at the resort, explore with your pup around Terramor’s 60-acre property and walk through the nature trails.

Yoga And Massages

Feeling stiff from a long day’s hike? You can book a massage right inside your tent. Terramor also offers complimentary yoga sessions in the mornings to ease you into your day.

Spoil Your Pup And Yourself at Terramor Outdoor Resort

We booked a four-night stay at Terramor, but unfortunately had to check out early because Gatsby decided to chomp down on a porcupine! That’s a story for another time. We wish we could’ve stayed a bit longer, and we will definitely make plans to visit again.

Our dogs are so special and deserve a vacation that’s all about them! Are you ready to share this dog-friendly glamping experience with your pup? They will love you for it!
