Dog-Friendly Newport, Rhode Island

If you’re looking for a getaway from New York with your pup, I highly suggest visiting dog-friendly Newport, Rhode Island. I recently had the opportunity to visit this little coastal town and stayed at Paws on Pelham for two nights. This dog-themed inn was absolutely the cutest! We strolled around town, checked out the coast, shopped, and enjoyed our meals and drinks at super dog-friendly restaurants.

Here’s what you need to know about dog-friendly Newport, Rhode Island.

Where to Stay

Paws on Pelham

Paws on Pelham, A Dog-Friendly Inn at Newport, Rhode Island

This is your ultimate dog-friendly inn, and I highly recommend it! The interior decor is all dog-related, which is so adorable. Your stay includes a daily cooked breakfast which was so yum! Depending on the room you plan on booking, your pup will even get to have its own dog house! We stayed in room 6 with a dog house and a separate living area with a sofa bed. This suite can sleep up to four people. There was also a mini-fridge for us to store all of Gatsby’s raw meat (he’s on a raw diet).

There’s a “RUFF” deck on the top of the inn where you can sit back and relax with your pup. A filtered hydration station is located on the main floor. If your dog comes back to the inn with dirty paws, there are microfiber towels right at the front desk. Everything was thought out so perfectly; I can’t wait to come back!
