As soon as your pup walks in, they’ll get a friendly greeting and find treats, toys, and everything they need to feel at home waiting for them in their room.
Need pet sitting or dog walking services while you explore NYC, where your pup is not allowed? Hotel Theta partnered up with WAG! Premium, where you are connected with professional pet caregivers for pet walking, boarding, or sitting.
Your pup can stay in the room alone, but you must complete a pet form at check-in and let the hotel staff know that if your pup is crated or out of the room during housekeeping services.

The rooms are super spacious, which is unheard of in most New York City hotels. We stayed in the King Bedroom Suite so even a Siberian Husky like Gatsby had enough room to roam around.
Our suite featured a plush king-sized bed, a separate living space, two beautiful black and white bathrooms with elegant and modern black fixtures, luxurious bath products by Atelier Bloem, and Kimpton branded robes.

Did you know that all Kimpton hotels host wine/social hours from 5 pm to 6 pm daily? The best part is that your pup can join you while you sip a glass of wine, mingle with others, and soak in all the New York City vibes.
Plant Pals Program
Kimpton Hotels also has a Plant Pals Program where guests can have a plant delivered directly to their room. Plants can improve wellness and mental health, which have always been part of Kimpton’s core values. So, let these plants brighten up your day. All you need to do is call the front desk to request one, and a unique plant will be delivered to your room along with a name tag, care instructions, and seeds so you can grow a new plant in your home!

Unfortunately, Hotel Theta’s rooftop restaurant, Bar Sprezzatura, wasn’t open during our stay. Set to open in Spring 2024, it draws inspiration from the Italian Riviera, where guests will feel like they were just transported to Positano. Bar Sprezzatura is set to serve fresh seafood, pasta, and cicchetti paired perfectly with refreshing cocktails and signature spritzes.
Café Otto
Located in the lobby of Hotel Theta, grabbing a coffee or latte at Cafe Otto with a croissant is the perfect way to start your day in NYC!
Unbeatable Location
In the center of Midtown, Kimpton Hotel Theta gives you amazing access to New York City’s top attractions, such as the famous Times Square. Final Thoughts
Living in New York City often means you don’t typically consider your own city a vacation spot. But I chose to take Gatsby on a staycation to create a new experience together. Plus, I love staying at hotels in general! Staycations are great because they eliminate the stress and hassle of traveling, like long drives and packing/unpacking.
We had the opportunity to experience the ultimate blend of luxury and pet-friendly hospitality right in our own city.
