A trip to Boston is always unforgettable, and this charming city keeps me coming back. Boston is my home away from home. Each year, I take my pup, Gatsby, to Boston once we enter the fall and winter seasons. This fall, we stayed at a boutique luxury hotel nestled in the heart of historic Beacon Hill. The Whitney Hotel in Boston is a true gem that offers a blend of luxury, charm, and dog-friendly hospitality. If you’re looking for a distinctive stay in one of Boston’s most iconic neighborhoods, read on to discover why The Whitney Hotel should be your top choice, especially if you’re traveling with your pup.
Historic Charm and Modern Sophistication
Housed within a meticulously restored 1909 building, this boutique hotel combines classic elegance with modern amenities. When you enter the doors, you’re transported to a world of refined sophistication and timeless beauty.
Luxurious Accommodations
Each room and suite at The Whitney Hotel is decorated with a blend of contemporary design and classic New England charm. Sink into plush bedding and enjoy views of Beacon Hill’s picturesque streets.
We stayed in the Beacon Hill City View King Guest Room, and it featured a king-sized bed, a beautiful bathroom with elegant fixtures, luxurious organic bath products from Grown Alchemist (so good that I even purchased some at the front desk to bring home), soft Frette bathrobes, nightly turndown service, a stocked mini-bar, a secure safe and a Nespresso coffee maker for your enjoyment.
The attention to detail in every corner of the rooms creates a warm and inviting sanctuary, ensuring you feel like you’re home away from home.
Dog-Friendly Upscale Amenities
The Whitney Hotel welcomes your pup with wide open arms. It offers a range of upscale dog-friendly amenities, including a plushy dog bed by Lion + Wolf, food bowls, and gourmet healthy treats from Boston’s famous Polkadog Bakery.
The Whitney Hotel welcomes two pets for an additional fee of $125 per stay.
Dog Friendly Dining Experience At Peregrine
Indulge your taste buds at the hotel’s signature restaurant – Peregrine, where they serve up Mediterranean-inspired cuisine focused on the culture of the Italian islands of Sardinia and Sicily and the neighboring influences of Corsica and Catalonia.
During our stay, we stopped by for brunch and were seated in their courtyard so Gatsby could enjoy a meal with us.
They were celebrating fall and offered a Fall Fest Cider menu featuring their favorite ciders from around the world. I ordered the Eden Imperial Rose Cider from Vermont, and my husband had the Isastagi Basque from Spain. We paired our ciders with some smoked salmon toast and ricotta toast, which were so tasty!
The restaurant’s warm ambiance creates the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience, whether you’re enjoying breakfast, lunch, or dinner with pup.
And don’t worry about the cold while dining in the courtyard. They have heat lamps and a fireplace to keep you warm.
Explore Charming Beacon Hill and Nearby
Beyond the hotel’s doors lies the charming Beacon Hill neighborhood, known for its cobblestone streets, historic landmarks, and vibrant atmosphere. There are many other things to do around Boston, and the hotel’s central location ensures you’re never far from the best Boston offers.
Here’s what to do near the charming neighborhood of Beacon Hill:
